SACRED THREADS
Patron: Mario Conti, Archbishop of Glasgow
We are a guild of craftspeople based in the Archdiocese of Glasgow, creating works of art for liturgical use in Christian churches. We are a voluntary non- profitmaking organisation. Our ministry and membership is rooted firmly within the ecumenical movement, as embroiderers, and also as special ministers, cantors, and readers. We meet together weekly to discuss our work. Our designer, Netta Ewing, trained at the famous Charles Rennie Mackintosh Glasgow School of Art, and designed the vestments for the Scottish Papal Visit. Her works also include murals, graphics, stained glass and church furniture.
